Purple Martin House 12 Hole "Red Theme"

This is our purple martin bird house made with strict specifications from Cornell Lab of Ornithology(Study of Birds) including starling resistant entry holes(which are hand cut versus the normal drilled round hole) that only purple martins can access. This is made by hand by veterans from prime cedar wood and built for superior ventilation and years of service. Most bird houses are not vented properly so when the hot weather comes the birds leave their nest and the babies do not survive. There are twelve nesting compartments and rails in front for easy access/prevent babies from falling out and also a rail on top when young are older and space becomes an issue. It is designed to be mounted on a metal pole or wood post and all front panels are designed and hinged to open for easy cleaning in the fall in preparation for next year. It measures 17 inches high, 20 inches wide and 19 inches long. Each compartment averages 6 inches wide, 7 inches deep and 5.75 inches high. We make them in natural cedar with a clear seal or painted(outside only) with transparent acrylic bird friendly stain. The weight is 29 pounds so we use Fedex Ground for shipping unless you need it in a hurry and then you can choose upgraded shipping at checkout. Unfortunately shipping rates have doubled and current cost is $78.00 so we pay about half the cost. +Each house is made completely by hand from full boards of wood, hand cut, stained or painted, assembled with stainless steel screws (no staples to come loose or rust), routered edges, sanded and glued for years of maintenance free service. Each house takes approximately 22 hours of actual work to complete.
